Understanding the Value of Certifications and Third-Party Audits

Government and non-government market customers are demanding more transparency and validation as to how risks are being managed by the companies they do business with.

The DoD’s issued interim rule 48 CFR Parts 204, 212, 217, and 252, which compels contractors to adhere to DoD prescribed cybersecurity requirements. This interim rule went into effect November 30 and implements both the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800–171 DoD Assessment Methodology and the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Framework.

Other agencies and clients are requiring companies to demonstrate adoption of best practices with CMMI, ISO standards such as ISO 9001, 20000-1 and 27001, and other leading standards

In addition, clients are asking their suppliers with greater frequency to produce Service Organization Controls (SOC) reports for their review in order to assess potential risks in doing busines with them.

BPX’s affiliated group of companies offers certification and third-party audit services that your clients are demanding.
